Cephasonics announces new ultrasound systems
Cephasonics is a global provider of ultrasound systems for real-time research and development of diagnostic products, embedded OEM applications and research.
Cephasonics promotes innovation in the development of next-generation medical and industrial ultrasound systems.
The Echo-64 is designed for use in OEM applications, enhancing new ultrasound systems, or integrating ultrasound into existing products and CAP (computer-added medical procedures) systems.
The Echo system boards provide the ability to custom design and build full-featured ultrasound systems that offer a high level of flexibility, compactness, and excellent image quality.
This structured approach allows much larger amounts of data to be accessed and used in real time, opening up new applications of ultrasound that cannot be accomplished with traditional ultrasound systems.
This design opens the way to developing systems with much higher performance, ideal for artificial intelligence and quantitative measurements.
The Echo-64 ultrasound system has a dual motherboard configuration that provides 64 transmit and receive channels with three levels of pulse transmission.
It also supports real-time streaming and flat-wave imaging, eliminating many of the limitations of traditional beamforming ultrasound.
The Echo-64 system uses Cephasonics' new high-speed fiber-optic computer interface, iCUF-Link, which can support 64-channel data rates continuously at 50 million samples per second in real time per connected computer.
The new Echo-64 system works with an API from the Cephasonics software development environment, CuSDK.
CuSDK allows medical product manufacturers as well as researchers to easily develop new real-time artificial intelligence and quantitative ultrasound programs using the Cephasonics Cicada development system, and then easily port them to new Echo-based ultrasound systems.
