CEOs Share How They See AI Transforming Businesses [incl. Live Call Recording]

In our recent live call, attended by many of you, I discussed the research I’ve undertaken with CEOs this year - to understand how they are viewing AI's impact and how they are adapting their businesses to leverage AI.

Multiple CEOs and business leaders also voiced their thoughts during the course of this live call, making it a rich source of insight that adds to the research I’ve already published.

Here’s the full call recording – below which I’ve summarized some of the key discussion points and indicated the timestamps for those parts of the conversation (so you can jump straight to the most relevant parts of the recording, if desired).

? [3 mins 08 secs] We discussed if CEOs have a clear view of AI's impact on their industries or if they are still figuring things out and are in more of a formative stage right now (they are mostly in the formative stage). We also discussed the importance of rethinking not just how to run businesses, but also what businesses do and how they do it.

? [5 mins 49 secs] What were the top topics CEOs brought up when discussing the impact of generative AI? Three key things raised were i) the urgency of adapting to AI and not being left behind; ii) making sure we hire the right people with the most appropriate domain expertise; and iii) managing the workforce anxiety that AI – and the changes it ushers in – will no doubt cause.

? [21 mins 34 secs] The challenges of integrating multiple systems in enterprises and the potential for AI to improve how these systems talk to one another is a great use case for driving ROI from investment in AI.

? [44 mins 45 secs] We discussed the strategic importance of rethinking business processes and how new entrants will emerge that challenge the ways things have historically been done in a whole range of industries.

? [54 mins 29 secs] In terms of business leadership, we can expect companies to shrink in size and for new entrants to emerge. So there will be a need for leaders who can manage smaller, high-expertise teams in the future.

I hope you get some great insights from this discussion - and if your company needs help with hiring a key leader to drive forward your adoption of AI, message me here and I'd be happy to discuss further.

The missing link is the looping back of the impact of AI into sustainability. Sustainability in its larger context and not in a restrictive and limited connotation.. Would like to hear the CEOs perspective on this aspect

This is an extremely relevant discussion and very insightful too. Managing change and being highly adaptable is critical today. While large enterprises are starting to cut down on their employee counts by doing away with the middle management, I would be very interested to know the possible impact of AI related job cuts on a country like India which has over 1.3 billion people and a working population of 63%. How do you see education and employment panning out for our youth over the next 3 to 5 years ?

A really engaging conversation around the impact of A.I. and CEOs' impressions of how they'll need to adapt Anu Parthasarathy. Really enjoyed hosting.
