CEO's, Latin Americans need you to help address poverty.
It has been almost a month since Angel Ribo and I started chatting. Angel has a big heart and deeply cares about this cause. He helps lead a project called Wisdom for Kids, an organization that helps address poverty in Latin America.
45% of children in Latin America are living in poverty. 18% of children in Latin America are living in extreme poverty. In total, there are 81 million children suffering from poverty in the region.
Why this matters to you:
1) Poverty leads to needless crime and violence. The United States is a land of abundance, we shouldn't ignore the plight of others when we have the means to help.
2) Poverty hurts sustainability and health. The United States has arguably the best healthcare in the world. And we pay for it (but that's another conversation). We also have the materials and manufacturing knowledge to produce sustainable products.
3) Poverty creates civil unrest in places that Americans trade with and vacation to. The availability and integrity of imports is at risk that can hurt our quality of life. In time, with this many poverty stricken children, popular American vacation spots might turn hostile.
Thankfully there's an organization and a plan to help address this problem.
Wisdom for Kids is a global foundation that helps kids in need in Latin America become entrepreneurs using local resources. Their mission is to help 810,000 kids (1:10 of total number) in need in Latin America become entrepreneurs within the next 3 years using local resources. Angel Ribo is seeking CEOs that are willing to teach Latin Americans to be entrepreneurs and leaders in their communities.
