CEO’s & Business Owners look at working from home Post COVID.
A recent Roy Morgan survey shows that a third of the workforce are Working From Home (WFH). Australian workers seem to be loving it. No more commutes. No more pants. What’s not to love?
A recent survey by Dexus showed that 78% of WFH’ers were enjoying the whole experience.
But you know who’s not loving it?
The CEO’s & Business Owners!
Many of Australia’s CEO’s believe company culture needs to be built in an environment where communication can flow freely and expect most staff to be working back in the office after the pandemic ends.
A new survey of C-suite executives by Australia’s largest landlord, Dexus, found 79 per cent of respondents expected that after the pandemic most of their staff would be working in the office most days of the week.
While there were positive takeaways from staff working remotely, there are three main sticking points for C-suite executives.
The first was not being able to nurture company culture effectively… the second was the ability to generate new business… and the third major challenge was the lack of observational learning.
78% of people like working from home. 79% of employers don’t want you to do it. As business leaders you need to know this will change the way you do business or you risk going out of business.
This culture shift is not going away, and I would love to say I have the answers, but I don’t and I would be wary of anyone who does. Companies can live and die based on culture and navigating this ‘new work culture shift’ will require discussion, trial, error and reiteration.
It’s a massive challenge keeping staff motivated and engaged in normal times let alone pandemic and recession combined.
In ‘The CEO Institute Syndicate Program’, you are meeting regularly with other local, non-competitive Business Owners and CEO’s of a similar size to discuss issues like this.
Over the 90’s “Recession we had to have” and the GFC “Global Financial Crisis” our members came through quicker and stronger than their competitors because of the unique peer support they received.
