CEO Thoughts

What a year 2024 has been. From my appointment as CEO last year, to being invited to speak at SXSW, to hosting our first sustainability reporting event, it has been a non-stop year of excitement for BizCubed. December tends to be a month of reflection, and I know that many of you will look back at the year and marvel at how much you have accomplished, and how much remains to be done, as I know I have.

2024 has been a year of new opportunities and growth. We announced an exciting collaboration with our strategic partner and client, PyxGlobal. In addition, we have taken on a role as a founding member of ADDA (Australian Digital Delivery Alliance), with the aim of “Recoding Australia” and being an alternative to the Big 4 for government digital delivery projects.?

Speaking of growth, we also celebrated BizCubed's 18th birthday. This achievement gave us time to reflect on the journey we've been on to get to where we are now. I'm so proud of how far we have come in 18 years and this is all due to the amazing support from our team, and incredible collaborations with our customers.?

Through our well-structured career development program, we have been able to promote several of our employees internally, from junior to data engineers. In addition, our commitment to diversity has borne fruit, we are now majority women-owned, have 50% female management team and 45% of our total employees are female.?

In the new year, we are excited to continue helping organisations get their data in order, to meet and exceed their sustainability goals with ESG123.?

?

Happy Holidays!

BizCubed Event?

Our recent event, “Groundbreaking Insights into Sustainability Reporting” was a resounding success.

Our fantastic panellists were, Rebecca Zeus, Zach Zeus and Steve Capell.

Here were a few of the highlights:

?ESG reporting challenges are exacerbated by these 3 data challenges. ?? 1. Silos impact data availability: Gathering, integrating and consolidating sustainability data is complicated and time-consuming because the data captured, stored and used in a range of systems and spreadsheets. Gaps caused by data that's missing, incomplete or trapped in inaccessible systems cause unnecessary ESG reporting headaches and last-minute scrambles. 2. Inconsistent data is not ready to be used: Metrics vary across departments, systems, reporting periods, and markets leading to conflicting numbers and undermining credibility. Many businesses discover too late that their data isn't structured for regulatory compliance or operational insights. 3. Insufficient trust and transparency: Outdated, incomplete, or manually manipulated data is difficult to trust. Inconsistent collection processes, lack of validation, manual processes with high risk of human error, and unclear data sources are all common culprits that can cause trust issues. So are reports that don't deliver reliable, consistent results. Increasing scrutiny from numerous directions (regulators, consumers, investors, employees) means ESG reporting must be accurate and defensible. Transparency is an issue when each number and result cannot be effectively traced back to its source. At BizCubed, we help businesses align their data ecosystems so ESG reporting isn’t just compliant but efficient, consistent, and actionable.

Trends

The key trends we see coming up relevant to our business and our customers include:

  • Pentaho CE Migration to Apache Hop - with Pentaho open source versions severely restricted, you may be wondering how easy it would be to migrate to the Pentaho-forked Hop
  • AI - whether you're ready for it or not, the real question is: is your?data?ready for AI?
  • ESG reporting - there's no silver bullet tool to solve your sustainability reporting headaches, but an operational data ecosystem goes a long way
  • Government insourcing - burnt by the Big4 consulting firms, government is taking a new look at procuring from sovereign small-to-medium enterprises and a way to support their journey to insourcing
