CEO Note: Announcing the Baltimore Region Brand
Dear Friends,
I am pleased to announce on Monday, March 17, 2025, the Greater Baltimore Committee (GBC) will premiere the Baltimore Region Economic Brand, one of the most important initiatives in our Multi-Year Agenda.
The release of the brand marks the culmination of nearly two years of dedicated work aimed at fully showcasing our region’s economic opportunities and amplifying the strategic priorities in All In | 2035.
Our goal is to communicate an authentic, clear, and compelling message that presents the full scope of our region’s strengths, untapped potential, and the progress we’ve made to tackle our most stagnant civic challenges.
This initiative involved collective input and guidance from our partner organizations, including economic development officials, local business, civic, and creative leaders, as well as national and international investment attraction decision-makers.
Most importantly, we’ve put a lot of care and intentionality into this effort and created an end result we're excited to reveal.
The brand will function as an overarching strategic platform that amplifies our assets, and creates an opportunity for companies, growth firms, local organizations, and businesses to more effectively market our economic story.
Whether you're a company seeking to attract talent, an entrepreneur looking for growth opportunities, or an elected official promoting the region, the economic brand is designed to support you and the collective efforts it takes to successfully attract investments in a fiercely competitive environment.
Join us on Monday, March 17 at Towson University (8000 York Road) for the 2nd Annual 2025 Pulse Check: Regional Brand Premiere!
We will also unveil the Annual Investment Scorecard, continuing the collaborative effort to quantify major deal activity in the region.
About the Baltimore Region Economic Brand Initiative:
After our merger in 2022 with the Economic Alliance of Greater Baltimore, GBC paused the region’s economic marketing efforts to reassess and align them with industry best practices.
For many years, business, civic, and elected leaders have expressed the need for the Baltimore Region to have a unified economic story. In 2024, we issued an RFP and selected a consortium of Resonance, Ipsos, and Timbre Strategies from 23 competitive proposals.
The stakeholder engagement included briefings, roundtable conversations, site visits and tours, and one-on-one interviews with our partners and major business and civic leaders responsible for marketing the region around the globe as part of their day to day work.
Ipsos polled hundreds of business decision-makers nationally and internationally to assess their perceptions and analyzed markets that compete against the Baltimore Region for investment and talent.?We also provided place-based branding efforts from each of our public and creative partners to help inform the regional brand.
We will reveal the final result at the 2025 Pulse Check on Monday, March 17.
We hope to see you there!
