There’s a loophole you can use to skyrocket your success.?
It's not meditation; it's not affirmations, and it's not education. Yes, all those things are important; however, if you're missing this one key variable, everything else becomes meaningless. It's your habits. Your daily routine is the driving force to your success in business and life.
As a high-performance coach, things can sometimes get hectic.
Between client meetings, facilitating workshops, and coaching sessions, as well as being a husband and father, my life can sometimes feel like a pressure cooker. And there's one thing, more than anything else, that keeps me tethered to my sanity... It's my morning routine.
Over the past 30 years, I have used this simple routine every morning to ground me emotionally and give me a head start on the day.
And now, I want to share it with you. Keep reading to learn the 4 daily success habits of a high-performance coach.
1. Hydrate Your System
I drink about half a liter to a full liter of water every morning after I wake up.
It hydrates and flushes out my system, preparing me to tackle the world. Also, it subtly increases my energy levels, which kickstarts my productivity for the day. Moreover, there are many other benefits of this simple practice.
Some of those advantages include:
As a life coach, I always want to give my best to the people I serve.
It doesn't matter whether they are first-paying clients or we have a long-term business relationship; I always do all I can to deliver. Simply drinking a glass of water in the morning is one of those high-performance habits that helps me show up at my best.
2. Get Moving
Another one of the best things I do after waking up is exercise.
Exercise is one of the tools that keeps me sharp (both physically and mentally) so I can focus on staying productive throughout the day. I spend about 10 minutes doing an ab workout every morning before going for my run. A recurring theme among high performers, whether CEOs or elite athletes, is their adherence to physical exertion.
And this is only 15 minutes into my morning...
So, before I even eat breakfast, I've already exercised and hydrated my system. And because I've gotten up early, I don't have the emotional interferences or the demands of my family, my kids, or my job vying for my attention.
And this makes it easy for me to take the next course of action, which is...
3. Devotional Period
I'm a Christian, so I devote a little time each morning to connect with God.
I go through scripture, I pray, I meditate, and I even do some journaling. These simple practices are staples in my morning schedule, as they help me gain deep insights that prepare me for my day and even my week. As a result, I’m ready to connect with potential clients, train up-and-coming coaches, and achieve my outcomes as a life coach.
If you're not a religious person, that's totally fine.
However, I do recommend that you at least practice mindfulness or journaling, as these are science-backed frameworks and evidence-based practices that can help you create better experiences in your day-to-day life. Another benefit of devotional time is that I get to reflect.
I can recall certain things about the previous day, such as:
I know these ideas are not part of the standard norms.
However, if they were, then there would be high-performance coaches everywhere. And the truth of the matter is that high performance comes from creating space in your life for productive time.

I may not have been published in the Wall Street Journal or Success Magazine yet.
However, these practices help me reach my full potential as a life coach. Whether meeting with executives or helping to turn around a company, the tens of thousands of hours I've spent practising these daily routines have contributed significantly to my coaching process, leading to success in life and business.
4. Understand Your “Peak Times”
Once I've gone through my morning routine, I shower, and then I'm off to my office by 7 AM.
Now, here's the thing...
Many of us spend little time studying our body clock. It's important to know where your body is best attuned to. Are you a morning person, or do you prefer working during the night? Are you most productive when you first wake up, or does your brain not come into full cognitive power until half past midnight?
To correctly manage stress, be at your best, and balance work and rest, you need to get a handle on your natural rhythm.
As a certified life coach, I can tell you that understanding your peak times for different tasks is essential. It's great for your career, your personal life, and simply life planning as a whole. And, of course, it will be a little different for everyone.
If I need to do anything creative like writing, it almost always has to be in the morning.
By the time the afternoon rolls around, I have to switch to a different task. I have to shift what I'm doing to other tasks that don't demand as much from me mentally.
My Advice
Now, why am I sharing this with you?
Because as a certified high-performance coach, my advice regarding daily routines is simple: Try what others suggest (if they have a track record of success), but then know yourself enough to adapt it to your needs.
Many times, we borrow the routines of others, and when we don't become high-performance machines overnight, we throw them out the window.
Then (the worst part), we just go back to being undisciplined with no routine at all.
That's the worst strategy. The better approach would be to adopt someone else's routine, try it out, and listen to your body and emotions to see how you respond to it.
Here's the deal...
You have to give your new routines a fair chance. And then, you can adjust them accordingly once you gain some insight into what's working and not working for you—this requires a strong sense of self.
I've developed and shifted my routine over decades. And now, I have it fine-tuned into a ritual of productive habits that optimize my focus to better serve my clients and reach for daily success.
