CEO of Kaseya responds to attack (video included)

Kaseya's CEO, Fred Voccola, has spoken out, following the recent security breach they've experienced and here are some of my key takeaways.

1. Having a Cyber Defence Playbook is key for any organisation. In this instance, it lead Kaseya to shut down VSA within an hour of the first indication of a potential issue, to protect its customers.
2. Under 1% of Kaseya MSP's affected which is roughly 50/37,000.
3. Up to 1,500 end user customers have had their data encrypted.
4. Due to the sophisticated design of the Kaseya infrastructure, the attack was isolated to the RMM module of Complete IT, which has mitigated the impact.
5. The team at Kaseya are on hand to assist with any queries though customers might experience a bit of delay.?

The plan to bring VSA back online by Tuesday afternoon has currently been delayed until Sunday. Though the original flaws have already been fixed to address other possible unforeseen issues moving forwards.
