Centurion New York: A Home Way From Home

Yabu Pushelberg is an award-winning interior design studio from New York and Canada and it is one of our inspirations. Their work is very innovative and has an uncompromising aesthetic edge that reveals itself through retail, residential, or hotel projects. We love to follow their work and stay updated with their most recent designs!

We presented the artists, and now let’s present you the art: Centurion New York, a new space for American Express “black card” members. This new destination aims to provide a home away from home, a discreet place to work and the very best to eat and drink, exclusively for holders of the American Express Centurion Card (colloquially known as the Amex black card).

It is obvious why Yabu Pushelberg was the chosen firm – their extensive portfolio blends renowned hospitality projects with retail spaces, as well as high-net-worth residential homes.

Centurion New York is located in One Vanderbilt, a building situated in Manhattan, directly opposite Grand Central Station, and has panoramic views to the east of the Chrysler Building, Central Park to the north, the Empire State to the south, and the Hudson River to the west – it is perfectly positioned.

The space occupies the entire 55th floor and it is divided into a lounge area, several multipurpose rooms, an event space, two luxurious restaurants, a wine room, a cocktail bar and a secret bar (access only by invitation). The intention was to create a destination for the American Express guests and it is a very pleasant one!

The Centurion New York is the first space of its kind for American Express. It was designed with the hope that Centurion Card members would spend a few hours between meetings or before going to the theatre – a place they can visit, connect with others, and enjoy great food and drinks. And Yabu Pushelberg made it very inviting!
