Centro House

I am so excited to introduce you to Centro House, a new coworking space in Marbella. I just can′t wait to tell your more about it!

In a nutshell, Centro House is a place where coworking meets luxury.

When I visited Centro House, Marbella, I had that feeling of stepping into something extra special. Something that inspires and engages you from the very moment the receptionist, Jade, meets and greets you in her cheerful, professional manner, from behind her cool, modern desk.

The brains behind this vibrant place to work is Ryan Howsam, who had an ingenious idea to create a truly unique concept, more like a private member’s club, where office space could feel luxurious and inviting, and where accommodation and office space could be beautifully blended into one.

It quickly became clear to me that Centro House is more than just a luxury coworking centre, it is a community. Centro House offers hot desks, fixed desks, individual offices and meeting rooms. It also has wellness facilities - a rooftop pool, a gym, expansive lounge areas and terraces, as well as four luxury ensuite rooms for a perfect overnight stay. There is always something happening with its weekly events and activities.? There is a definite buzz about Centro House.

I started my tour from the reception area with Jade. It was like someone showing you something they really like and enjoy. I looked and admired the variety of desks and offices. The wooden floors, the gorgeous lighting, the spaciousness. Even the bold, wooden desks are quite posh! Some workers had headphones on, others were tuned in or chatting in their private offices.

I saw the meeting rooms. There was a hum of activity. Business was flowing in the executive boardroom. Those gentlemen were relaxing with a glass or two of wine after brainstorming. You could almost smell the whiff of success in the air.

The gym upstairs is a great addition, with showers next door to refresh yourself after “gym time.” There is an immaculately clean and modern shared kitchen at the top, ideal for those diligent entrepreneurs needing replenishment.

I wowed at the pool and the terrace on the top level with places to relax and recoup and enjoy the sunshine and views. It was quite hard to pull myself away. This is idyllic and just steps from Puerto Banus. It is so private, unique – a little bit of paradise.

?

I loved the display of paintings adorning the walls from the Cipressi gallery. Something for everyone - very eclectic. Arty, stunning, funky, striking and fabulous. They are a welcome and perfect addition to the walls. I have my favourites to admire again next time I visit! Centro House is my kind of place!

Thoroughly deserved, Centro House has won an award for its interior. The interior was designed by Ambience Interiors. Centro House won an award for best office interior in Europe at the European Property Awards for 2022-23.

Some might cheerfully describe Centro House as quirky.? If they do, I adore quirky! The chill-out hammocks, the rooftop pool and terrace, the phone booths, and the lockers that look like secret cupboards.

?

When I reflected on my visit, grabbing a cheeky cava at Centro Plaza with the panoramic view of the Mediterranean Sea out towards Marbella, it seemed obvious to me that coworking is taking the Costa del Sol, and the world, by storm, and Centro House are setting the standards so high. So desirable.

I had walked or driven past Centro House before, not quite knowing what it was. A fancy estate agency, a top of the range interior designer′s outlet, a gentleman′s club. It always looks so elegant and immaculate, subtle but very much present. Outside on the road are some quite delicious cars and everyone that disappeared inside was well dressed, like they meant business. Centro House is all of this, and so much more. My theories about the big, white glitzy building had rocketed sky high since my tour with Jade.

?

Looking round Centro House in 2024, I can hardly believe that the word “coworking” was first seen on Google back in 2007 and has increased more than sixfold in comparison to other queries. The term “coworking” quickly gained traction and an official page was published on Wikipedia for the fast-growing workplace trend. ?

Trends represent a shift towards a more tech-savvy, and lifestyle integrated coworking environment.? There is a substantial rise in demand for flexible working arrangements.

2023 witnessed a growing emphasis on sustainability, digital technology integration, and I discovered that the increasing popularity of coworking spaces and the demand is expected to be huge by the end of the decade.

?

There are incredible benefits to coworking. It has been proven that a healthier mind, means a healthier body.

Coworking results in:

70% of members becoming healthier

64% completing tasks in a timelier manner

Undoubtedly, taking care of mental health as well as trying to increase and improve productivity is important – Enjoy being a coworker!

The coworking spaces at Centro House, Marbella, are designed to inspire innovation and productivity. Give them a try and start collaborating and meeting new people!

Coworkers have an opportunity to keep an open mind when meeting their fellow co-working members. A simple problem-solving conversation can quickly turn into a business opportunity, and a casual working relationship can develop into a strong friendship. The coworking location and the ambience of the building is the initial key, something they score top marks for at Centro House.

?

Centro House members include real estate agents, crypto traders, wellness coaches, artists, uber creative types and youtubers. Many collaborations and partnerships have started at Centro House, both at formal networking events and in passing. They are a vibrant, friendly, and well-balanced community.

Pure Nordic water, now an international company, still stay in touch and have even gifted water for Centro House members. A fine example of fostering a good relationship!

I decided to briefly delve a little deeper into the rise of coworking.

Can you believe, the precursor to modern coworking started as long ago as 1995 in Berlin as “hackerspace” with 17 computer enthusiasts in Berlin? The movement evolved and grew in the early 2000s and significantly accelerated in the aftermath of COVID-19. Today, a growing number of large companies are utilizing coworking to reduce costly office space while promoting a “work-from-home” office culture.

If you are a bit of a word wizard or Thesaurus, like me, you question things. Is it co-working with a hyphen or ¨coworking? ¨ Does it really matter? Centro House have embraced this, so I raised my glass with a big ¨Cheers¨ to Centro House.

?

Interestingly, Centro House only employ staff who are genuinely friendly people, and this resonates. They have fun at work and the atmosphere is positive.

?

Centro House welcome feedback and are heavily invested in Instagram and inviting influencers to host their events. They are very proactive in capturing reviews using the software tools they have at their fingertips.

Later, I had a look at their Google reviews, and now I would like to share a few with you:

“Second time I have visited for work and cannot recommend highly enough. Staff are helpful and respectful. Facilities include a gym and rooftop pool and sun loungers, with a beautiful view. I will be back again next year.”

“Centro House is a five-star experience. We thoroughly enjoyed our two-night stay. It looks just like the photos, if not better. Modern, clean, and spacious. We highly recommend this luxurious property. All staff are friendly and welcoming. We can′t wait to visit again.”

And from a real estate agent – “Centro House is the best place for me to work, meet with clients and to catch up with other entrepreneurs. Tastefully decorated, plenty of space, huge terrace, a gym and a pool. On top of that, different events are offered. The staff are utmost professional and super helpful.”

?

Centro House is very much en vogue. They are at the helm of the coworking luxury environment and will steer this ship carefully and no doubt, successfully, for years to come with their positive, natural, and fun approach.

Hats off to Cento House, Marbella! I think we all should be immensely proud to have you in Marbella. Looking so chic in the stunning white building with the glistening chandeliers on Calle Azaleas (no 51), between busy Centro Plaza and the Hard Rock Hotel and the casino, in Nueva Andalucia. Just up from Puerto Banus and around the corner from Marbella Arena. ?A central and perfect location.

?Come along! Even if it’s just for the early morning pilates (to stretch out those stiff “behind the desk” limbs) or boxing. Believe me, you will want to come back. I do!
