We KNOW what it is
We're just afraid to dive in
It's that imagined fear of something that could kill me
If we shine a light on that fear
It's oftentimes a puppy in a wolverine costume... #flowtherapy
We think of fear as something you can't run away from completely, because it always stays one step ahead of you. You see, that is the problem...we keep running away...instead of taking a deep breath and facing our fears...
The fear factor
Stress from not having a job,
Stress from having a wrong job,
worrying about certainty,
worrying about uncertainty, ...
Constant worry is not getting us anywhere but why do we worry so much, in particular, about things we don't have any control over it? So many outside variables, tics, tac's and toe's that we can't control.
That said... there is one variable that we can manipulate and control. The only variable that we can adjust, modify and re-wire. Our own mindset.

"THE CASE"
Has got me going to a place
That's uncomfortable
Because before,
When there were leads to chase...
I'd just run from em.
But now it's mine to face
And my excuse
Has been that I'm not confident
Enough,
To feel like I could handle what's behind
That door that might punish me
Beat me up and pummel me
Treat me like the punisher
Eat me up
Chew me up and spit me out,
To tell the truth...
But, when I
Add it all up
The sum of truth,
Is gonna hit real hard
A sobering doce
Like, a hundred proof...
But this is where my destiny lies
I gotta run into
That place
That I've been afraid to investigate
For a month or two
Even though I knew
It would solve the case
And I knew
That this is where everything would funnel to
And as long as I've held it together
I knew,
This is where I probably would come unglued.
But, it's gut check time
See, this is where it bubbles up
This where it bottle necks
I either go inside that place
With my novice neck
Exposed and vulnerable
Waiting for what's comin' next...
Or I watch this case go cold
And sign my autograph
Signing off on all the crap
That everybody talked with respects
To the fact that this case
Was just supposed to end up in a box like an artifact...
But I am not done
I will not run
Away...
If I have to
I will run
Right into the barrel of a shotgun.
But man, I am scared to death
Of what comes next
I am scared to death
To put myself out there...
Because honestly,
I am terrified
That from these lips
All the plans to solve this case
That I had talked up
Have been the same lips
That I never pulled the trigger on
And shot from.
The only way to rid of worries is to free our mind from the fear of consequences and prevent a denial to make itself comfortable in our own mind. To do that we need to accept the worst possible outcome and deliver the message to our mind that we have nothing more to lose. Once that happens our mind is free.
What if | This Could | Make You | Stop Worrying
WHAT IF...
If you are presented with a difficult situation, ask your self all available"What IF" questions. Analyse the situation from all "What if" angles. Try to answer all "What if's" honestly in the purpose of figuring out - what is the worst that could possibly happen.
What IF, am I going to ( the worst possible scenario available for the situation ).
Example: What If, I don't submit this report on time...
There is a chance that I would lose my job;
There is also a chance that my employer would have to ...
the company will lose x amount of dollars...
THIS COULD...
After figuring out what could be the worst scenario that could possibly happen, you need to accept it.
Example: This could be a blow to my record, and it might possibly mean the loss of my job; but if it does, I can always get another position. Conditions could be much worse; and as far as my employers are concerned- well, for them this could mean loss of revenue, they can lose....
MAKE YOU...
Once you understand the worst possible outcome and what could happen, take time to reflect on the outcomes and ask yourself one question: How does that make you feel?
It also MAKES YOU accept the feeling and establish the understanding of improvement rather than fear. You can only improve upon the worst which you have accepted mentally.
Example: It would make me feel good if I figure out ways and means by which I might be able to submit my report on time.
I can make several changes...By solving x I can reduce Y to produce Z. That would make me feel good with a rewarding outcome.
STOP WORRYING...
Probably the worst consequences of worrying are that it destroys our ability to focus and concentrate. When we worry, our mind is unstable and wanders off looking for reasons to be worried. In the process, we lose the power of decision.
Once we manage to face the worst and accept it mentally, we then eliminate all second-guessing and put ourselves in a position in which we are able to concentrate on solutions rather than on the problem itself.
