County Hall the centre of green job growth in the UK

At the same time that pressure is mounting on the UK government due to recent evidence of flat lining in green jobs and legal challenges to Net Zero plans, we are proud that this week our amazing job creating startups, have been featured by the BBC One News. Founders and their businesses such as Agnes of Airex, Caroline & Mary of Junee, David of Propelair are a snapshot of the 330 startups which we have supported, and 31 that we have invested in. They are creating thousands of highly productive, inclusive jobs, which are driving the Net Zero transition on the ground. In 2022 over a 1,000 of these jobs will be based in touching distance of Parliament just across the river at Sustainable Ventures new HQ at County Hall.

We are excited to be on track to support 1,000 Climate Tech startups by 2025, and look forward to working with our many local, regional and national partners including Lambeth Council and Big Issue Invest mentioned in the coverage. So that together we can prove that green jobs numbers are growing rapidly in a number of promising sectors and creating the kind of jobs that the world needs. At the same time as providing tangible evidence for the hundreds of passionate MPs who are defending Net Zero from attack by a minority of fossil fuel supporting climate skeptics. That so many of the inspirational founders and passionate people working for these businesses are highly diverse, including close to 50% female, significantly better than general tech, makes it all the more special.

Absolutely agree Nabeel Khan - Sustainable Ventures are at the heart of something very special - driving the sustainable innovation the world needs in South Bank & Waterloo neighbourhood - a location destined to be the place to be as we emerge into a post CoVID world where urban wellbeing, sustainability and diversity matter.
