February was a busy month for Energy Connects as we produced Show Dailies and a studio at India Energy Week at the start of the month and then hosted another studio at EGYPES - Egypt Energy Show a few weeks later, where we introduced livestreaming for the first time. At both shows, we spoke exclusively to CEOs and energy leaders on the biggest issues facing the energy industry and the markets in India and Egypt.
Keisuke Sadamori, Director for Energy Markets & Security, International Energy Agency (IEA) , spoke to us after the launch of the IEA’s Indian Oil Market 2030 report. He shared some of the report’s top findings and underscored the vital role played by India’s oil sector in the energy transition pathways of the future. We also spoke to Shrikant M Vaidya , the Chairman and Managing Director of Indian Oil Corp Limited to discuss how India’s largest commercial enterprise is a pillar of the nation’s four-pronged energy security strategy as well as its net zero future.
OPEC ’s Secretary General, Haitham Al-Ghais shared his views exclusively on India’s pivotal role in the future of the energy industry, how chronic underinvestment in hydrocarbons would undermine security of energy supplies and trigger market volatility.
In Cairo, we sat down with the Lorenzo Simonelli , Chairman and CEO of 贝克休斯 to hear how technology today will be key in achieving net zero pledges and why there needs to be more of a focus on energy efficiency. We also heard from Bader Al Lamki , the CEO of ADNOC Distribution about the importance of the Egyptian market and why it is the perfect choice for the company’s next expansion as the country’s big population is hungry for energy.
