News & Insights from our the digital world.

As we've reached June, the digital landscape is already witnessing a troubling surge in cyber attacks. In just the first half of the year, two major cyber breaches have targeted large-scale companies and organisations, causing significant disruptions and highlighting vulnerabilities in cybersecurity defences. These incidents highlight the growing sophistication and frequency of cyber threats in today's digital world.

Ticketmaster data breach

ShinyHunters hacking group group is reportedly demanding (£400,000) ransom payment to prevent the data from being sold to other parties.

Ticketmaster's parent company, Live Nation, confirmed that hackers accessed a third-party cloud database containing user data, including names, addresses, phone numbers, and some payment information of 560 million users. The hacking group ShinyHunters is demanding £400,000 to stop selling the data on the dark web. Live Nation is investigating the breach and working with law enforcement and regulatory authorities to mitigate risks. Despite the breach, Live Nation does not expect a significant impact on their business operations or financial condition.

St Thomas' including Royal Brompton and the Evelina London Children's Hospital amongst the affected trust.

A severe cyber-attack has forced several major London hospitals to declare a critical incident, resulting in the cancellation of operations and the diversion of emergency patients to other facilities.

This disruption primarily affects hospitals affiliated with Synnovis, a key provider of pathology services.

Among the impacted institutions are King’s College Hospital, Guy’s and St Thomas’, the Royal Brompton, Evelina London Children’s Hospital, and various primary care services.

The incident has significantly hindered the delivery of essential services, particularly impacting blood transfusions and the processing of test results.
