A phenomenal showing of continued adoption, momentum, opportunity and importance of Central Finance as a key S/4HANA adoption and deployment scenario at SAPPHIRE 2018:

• 15 dedicated customer stories and customer presentations: including Cargill, Goodyear, General Motors, Hershey’s, Lockheed Martin, Microsoft, Mohawk, and Nike

Huge progress not only on the adoption side, but also on the overall the market maturity:

SAP customers are more knowledgeable than ever about the concept, business value, and potential use cases of Central Finance. System Integrators are more savvy today with numerous implementations under their belt and methodologies and tools and templates in place for better, accelerated implementations. Non-SAP ERP source system integration is a no-brainer (mostly 15-20 days fixed price) thanks to pre-defined accelerators from our eco-system partner Magnitude.

Where in 2016 we talked about the Central Finance as a solution, and in 2017 we shared initial implementation stories … now, in 2018, many have moved from the WHAT and WHY to now: HOW and more importantly WHAT ELSE ?

Talking about what else; Central Finance as a stepping stone – using Central Finance to bring S/4 into the organization and subsequently using it to decommission ERP source systems and onboard them (FIN and LOG) onto the new central instance – is the #1 next step for Central Finance customers (per recent benchmarking study).

On the cloud side – you can run Central Finance in the private and hosted cloud (first customers are live) - and S/4HANA Cloud as two-tier scenario as either subsidiary or full ERP “feeder” system into Central Finance is getting more and more momentum as well.
