Centered Around Social Change

I had finished filming the short film Tribe305 and submitted it to Sundance 2017. I wondered, how I could continue to fill the HOLE that existed inside me?

The answer was simple. CREATE. I would produce films about things that matter: documents, subjects, and a variety of topics that would bring intuitive social change and a positive impact on the community.

I had no idea what shape my Theory of Change (ToC) would make. I understood that Theory of Change (ToC) is a specific type of methodology for development, contribution, and evaluation. It’s used in the non-profit sectors to encourage positive social change.

But what did it look like in practice?  I began fostering an environment of empowerment within my team, and as the Universe would have it, I stumbled across “The Center for Social Change” (C4SC)- a Miami co-working space and open environment for mission-driven leaders and organizations, including nonprofits and social entrepreneurs, that provided a community of support in which to connect, innovate, and learn. It’s a global movement of social innovators and entrepreneurs who create systemic solutions to the world's most critical problems. It’s the belief that our planet's seemingly insurmountable problems can be solved if everyone commits to being the solution, by working collaboratively to invent and create lasting meaningful change.

What better way to learn how to shape a creative Theory of Change (ToC) than by interviewing and speaking with the many non-profits that share space at the Center 4 Social Change. And so, the reel entitled Centered Around Social Change was born. Now we just need to complete the film, but that too will come.
