The U.S. Center for SafeSport took its powerful message of abuse prevention to The Aspen Institute 's?Project Play Summit. It’s an annual gathering of leaders who strive to build healthy communities through sports.?
Center?CEO Ju’Riese Colón?presented at a Summit panel titled “Drawing the Line on Emotional and Physical Abuse.”?
Ju'Riese Colon ?highlighted the Center’s recently released?Emotional & Physical Abuse & Misconduct Toolkit. It’s part of the Center’s mission to provide important abuse prevention and education resources to sports organizations of all sizes and levels nationwide.??
The toolkit lays out the critical steps in preventing, recognizing, and responding to harmful behavior in sport settings.??
“Athletes should be able to thrive and fulfill their potential without fear of harassment or intimidation by coaches or teammates,” said Colón. “Our toolkit provides specific actions coaches, parents, and athletes can take to build an inclusive sport environment and make sport safer and more rewarding for everyone.”?
