Our story began in Japan in 1921, when Busaburo Otsuka left farming to create a chemical raw materials factory. With one courageous leap, Busaburo turned a dream into a reality and created a legacy of unconventional thinking. Busaburo started with 10 employees and a commitment to quality and innovation; today, this commitment is shared by a global organization with nearly 50,000 employees. Busaburo’s insight —when you fully dedicate yourself to a dream, you can overcome any challenge that stands in your way – drives Otsuka forward today, as we continue to push the boundaries of healthcare and impact the well-being of patients around the globe.

The story we’re writing
