Centennial Celebration
It all started on March 11, 1919 - when a few Seattle businessmen got together to develop the plan for a challenging golf course and a place to socialize with friends, colleagues and family.
The Rainier Golf and Country Club celebrated its Centennial year throughout 2019 with a variety of events for all.
The Opening Ceremony recognized many long-term members and debuted the centennial clock tower and champion walkway on the 1st tee.
The Seattle Centennial Battle was not really a battle but the sharing of centennial celebrations with Inglewood Golf Club (est 1919) through some competitive, challenging and friendly golf. The camaraderie continued with social gatherings following golf…
The 100th Anniversary Gala was the party to remember with era food and drink, big band, gangsters and flappers, antique autos and kind words from one of Rainier’s own, Jim McLean.
The more recent, December Holiday Ball was the stage for Rainier’s Closing Ceremony that recapped a great year and history of the club, while celebrating the future and our future leaders. To commemorate the closing of a great centennial year, a time capsule will be placed and marked on property to be opened at the Clubs 125th Anniversary.
Now Rainier Golf and Country Club moves into its new millennium with a clubhouse renovation plan to help celebrate the next 100 years!
Cheers!
