CEMA 2024
The 10th Annual Cyber Electromagnetic Activity (CEMA) kicked off today. A capacity crowd of industry, government and academia descended upon Myer Auditorium on Aberdeen Proving Grounds to discuss the theme: Electronic Warfare Overmatch – Reestablishing Dominance in the Electromagnetic Spectrum.
The day included an array of speakers who addressed a variety of topics that spoke to the U.S. Army’s desire to re-establish dominance in the field of EW. PEO IEW&S Brig. Gen. Ed Barker provided opening remarks. “There’s no turn-key methodology that fits everything. There must be a layered approach to our solutions,” said Barker, as he described what it’s going to take to be successful in a multi-domain environment. “We can not just be static. We must be able to exercise organizational agility. You can’t just you’re going to be agile; you have to build the culture.”
PEO IEW&S Project Director Sensors Aerial Intelligence, Mr. Dennis Teefy, was joined by representatives from our uncrewed aircraft systems platform partner and S&T experts for a panel discussion on Launched Effects Family of Systems. He elaborated on a recent announcement by the U.S. Army to speed up plans to procure launched effects capable of flying at different ranges and deploying from a variety of air and ground platforms.
