Astro Resources: an astute explorer reinvigorating itself
Freshly on the other side of what might reasonably be described as a transformative year, Astro Resources (ASX:ARO) is a company rapt with the promises of a new dawn.
In June 2022, the Sydney-based explorer signed a deal with Greenvale Energy (ASX:GRV) — then Greenvale Mining — to acquire an 80% stake in the Georgina Basin IOCG Project in the Northern Territory.
That transaction, finalised in November 2022, added a promising new asset to Astro’s existing portfolio, which includes the Governor Broome Mineral Sands Project in south-west WA, the Smoke Creek Diamond Project west of Lake Argyle in WA, and the Needles Gold Project in Nevada, USA.
Aruma Resources strikes collection of ‘significant’ REEs and base metals at Saltwater Project, WA
Minerals explorer Aruma Resources (ASX:AAJ) has unearthed ‘significant’ rare earth elements (REEs) and cobalt following initial reconnaissance fieldwork at its Saltwater Project in Western Australia.?
The company says results are ‘highly encouraging’ and have been generated from its first phase of surface sampling at the project. These results are interpreted to share similarities to those seen at Dreadnought Resources’ (ASX:DRE) neighbouring Bresnahan REE Project.?
Results also demonstrate the presence of anomalous lead-zinc in conjunction with the already identified commodities, reaffirming the project’s potential to host unconformity heavy rare earth elements (HREEs) and base metal deposits.?
Redstone Resources inks deal to expand lithium exploration footprint in Québec, Canada
Base and precious metal developer Redstone Resources (ASX:RDS) has secured an exclusive option to acquire 2 lithium projects in the ‘prolific’ James Bay Lithium District in Québec, Canada.
The company says both the Radisson East and Sakami Lithium projects have a combined land area of 90km-square and cover more than 50km of ‘highly prospective’ greenstone belt with coincident lithium-in-lake anomalism.
Redstone Resources will also move forward with an inaugural field program for the current Canadian summer field season. The field program will test and confirm several of the targets for their potential to contain lithium mineralisation.?
Toubani Resources to swoop into updated DFS for Kobada Gold Project, Mali
Toubani Resources (ASX:TRE) is planning to begin work on a Definitive Feasibility Study (DFS) update later this month for its Kobada Gold Project in southern Mali.
The company has started discussions with engineering groups to complete the updated DFS, which is targeted to be completed by the end of 2023.
This updated DFS will assess a range of development scenarios to analyse the impact of different mining and processing rates on operating costs, capital costs, and the financial performance of the project. The 2021 DFS contemplated a processing plant with a 3-million-tonne-per-annum throughput rate, with mining rates averaging 24 million tonnes per annum to enable a ‘higher-grade’ feed from the first to the 10th year.
Revolver Resources prepares to fire up drilling at Dianne Project, Queensland
Revolver Resources (ASX:RRR) is expecting to begin a 2,000m diamond drill program next week at its Dianne Project in northern Queensland, Australia.?
The $29.95 million market capitalisation company says the program will focus on testing 3 Heli-EM targets, namely the C5, C6, and C6 targets, located in the Larramore Volcanic Belt. The targets have been prioritised following the outcomes of recent field mapping activities in the area.?
