We are coming to the time of year when important celebrations are starting to happen everywhere, but particularly in the local communities. We wish to acknowledge the recent celebration and congratulate the winners of the awards provided by the Department of Culture for the contributions of Mr. Bill Clare, ?Lovely Forbes, Dennis Penn and Lindsey Butterfield and The Gospel Blitz, who contributed in the areas of community services, history, and music and “whose contributions provide a rich legacy to the culture and heritage of the Turks and Caicos Islands". ?We are aware that these awardees have worked tirelessly and in some cases against difficult odds, to make their contributions.
?Here are some upcoming notable events:
?TCIFA Awards Gala-?October 25th- The Ritz Carlton- A black tie gala event, representing the local soccer association. This event ?raises funds for local youth programs.
Caribbean Food and Wine Festival-November 7th?to 10th- This is a multi-day event that is being hosted by some of the luxury hotels such as Grace Bay Resorts, Como Parrot Cay, The Harling Group and Amanyara. It consists of wine pairing and tasting of cuisine ranging from Italian, French, Mediterranean, Asian and with the inclusion of local food Ambassador Chef Nic and Crack Pot Kitchen. ?The cuisine is often prepared by Michelin starred chefs and the experience takes place at the different properties, throughout the three days. Turks and Caicos does not celebrate American Thanksgiving, however there is a “Day of Giving Thanks”, which is a holiday around the same time. Additionally, note that many restaurants and hotels have live bands and solo acts, offering music primarily on weekends. Also, local Fish Fry is ongoing on Thursday evenings. North and Middle Caicos will now have Fish Fry at various locations through North and Middle Caicos, throughout November, in case you are visiting the Twin Islands and looking for an activity.
