A Celebration of Voter Registration

The youth-led organizations in the Alliance Network have been registering voters for over a decade. We love voter registration so much that we co-founded National Voter Registration Day! Last week, along with thousands of other civic-minded organizations and companies, we celebrated our 11th National Voter Registration Day.

Why do we love voter registration?

Registering someone to vote is an open invitation to participate in our democracy. And when a peer registers you to vote, that invitation is special. Our network has dedicated much of their work to ensuring young people feel welcome in our democracy and are registered to vote.?

Why National Voter Registration Day is so special to us

If there is one thing we have learned in the past ten years of voter registration, it is that young people know how to make it fun. Our folks are registering voters year-round, but on this one day in September, we are joined by community members and have an excuse to turn it into a full-blown party. Just take a look at how members of the Alliance Network celebrated the Civic Holiday this year.

From a "Rock Your Reg" concert to an event with puppies and boba, youth organizers hosted epic events across the country to ensure young people are registered to vote and ready to participate in our democracy.
