The Celebration Called Voting Day !

Something we can take a lesson from, today seemed like a usual Monday untill I went to the polling booth to cast my vote as the largest democracy int he world goes to vote today for it's government in the centre. The sheer organisation skills on the roads today - with hundreds of people out on the road to cast their votes - across the spectrum of classes - economic, social, religious and many more the unity in everyones mind to caste the ballot and seek their chosen one as the elected representative who will do them good - do us good for the next 5 years was nothing short of a celebration of sorts.
With the police playing their part, random volunteers helping the old and people with special needs go up to the polling booths, no frustrations being vented at somewhat long lines (which I did not experience - I was in and out in under 5 mins), and something I saw which made me feel very happy was the sense of contentment on everyones face once the voting was done.
A lot families and friends also went out to get a meal together - with the local Udupi's and Irani Cafes "extra" full of people eating together regardless of what their political ideology was, was a sight to watch. Jokes being shared, people laughing, cracking a wise on the past, present and future leadership - it felt nothing short of a festival in India today...a festival that brought everyone together, brought everyone together as responsible citizens.
