During July, we celebrated World Youth Skills Day and showcased several exciting developments across our programmes. The Networks of Change Programme's “Maro Chaki Ka” Youth Forum in Chamchamal, Iraq, gathered over 600 young people, highlighting their commitment to community leadership and self-expression. In Tunisia, our participation in the "Digital Partnerships for a Sustainable Future" workshop demonstrated our global impact in economic empowerment.?
We also launched our new Türkiye Scholarship Programme. Additionally, updates from the Palestine Launchpad with Google Programme and our successful field visit in Burundi reflect our ongoing dedication to creating opportunities for youth worldwide.

Kurdistan Region of Iraq: Boosting youth activism in the Kurdistan Region of Iraq
The Networks of Change Programme marked its first campaign achievements with the “Maro Chaki Ka” Youth Forum in Chamchamal. The event brought together over 600 youth for a dynamic day of speeches, discussions, performances, and exhibitions. This forum celebrated and promoted self-expression, career development, and leadership among the young participants, highlighting the success and impact of the program in empowering the youth.

It was an honor to witness the community’s spirit and commitment to strengthening their region. Tunisia: SPARK highlights achievements at "Digital Partnerships for a Sustainable Future" Workshop
From July 1st to 3rd, SPARK participated in the "Digital Partnerships for a Sustainable Future" stakeholders consultation and training workshop, organised by the Islamic Development Bank (IsDB) (IsDB) and 联合国开发计划署 . This event offered a valuable platform for engaging in meaningful discussions and contributing to the panel on "Reflections and Discussions on Tadamon Phase I."
SPARK proudly showcased its achievements in Somalia, Iraq, Lebanon, Jordan, and Libya, emphasising initiatives in economic empowerment and sustainable development. Our participation highlighted our ongoing commitment to fostering impactful growth in challenging environments, reinforcing our dedication to creating lasting positive change.
Entrepreneur of the Month: Meet Aya Emad
“We have skills. It’s important that we utilise them to sustain ourselves and contribute positively. Rather than being dependent, we can be valuable assets.”
Aya Emad, a Syrian refugee in Jordan since 2015, turned her passion for art into a business to sustain her family and contribute to her community. Facing challenges common to refugees, she found support through programmes like SPARK, enhancing her skills and accessing markets.

Türkiye: Introducing SPARK’s Türkiye Scholarship Programme for International Students
SPARK is excited to launch our Scholarship Programme for international students residing in Türkiye. This initiative offers monthly financial support of up to 3000 Turkish Lira. Open to students born on or after January 1, 2000, who have graduated high school? in 2024, the programme prioritises individuals with disabilities, females, refugees, and those from disadvantaged backgrounds.
Palestine Launchpad with Google Programme
Applications for Cohort 3 are open again! Techies in Palestine are welcome to apply for our scholarship Nanodegree programme in one of 6 in-demand specialisations. It is an opportunity to stay ahead in the tech world, network with experts, and connect with potential employers locally and globally.?
The Palestine Launchpad with Google programme by 谷歌 , Stichting SPARK , and Udacity has awarded scholarships to over 1500+ learners and aims to grant 6,000 by 2025. It provides tech career workshops, job interview prep, personalised mentoring from local and global experts, and access to career fairs and tech networks. Graduates of the programme earn Nanodegree certificates and work on real-world projects, deepening their knowledge and skills.?

SPARK Burundi Field Visit Highlights Success in Youth Employment
SPARK Burundi conducted a field visit with key stakeholders, including the Dutch Embassy, Dutch Ambassador, and representatives from the Burundi Government. The visit showcased the successful job creation efforts through entrepreneurship and internships, which have been highly appreciated. The collaborative support from our donors and partners continues to drive positive impact and foster opportunities for youth in Burundi.
