Celebrating a work anniversary

Last month I celebrated 4 years of owning and publishing a niche magazine in Omaha, Nebraska. LinkedIn is great about sharing work anniversaries. The tip of the iceberg so to speak.
With every congratulatory message and notification coming in, it has me both thankful and looking back at the long road I've travelled down. I've had ups and I've had downs. 2017 was a great year full of growth and excitement for my new brand. 2018 brought family location changes and launching a second business in the coffee industry. 2019 was a hard year on my magazine business but that didn't stop us from launching a second magazine. Then along came 2020 saying "hold my beer".
2020 was challenging in many ways. One thing I learned though, is that it is hard to go it alone and having the right team around you makes everything possible. I went from being a solo business owner of 3 businesses to bringing on strategic partners who share the same vision of each company.
Each new year is a fresh start and equally a time to build on the previous year. This year my focus word is CREATE. I will create more opportunities within my businesses. I will create new and meaningful relationships. I will create more revenue streams.
Seeing my LinkedIn connections work anniversaries will have new meaning to me now. Especially for my fellow entrepreneurs and business owners. I see the tip of your iceberg and know there is so much more meaning in that anniversary than a simple "congrats on your work anniversary"

4 年I write the employee newsletter at my organization. One of the monthly features is a celebration of work anniversaries. This month the span is 1 to 48 years! Next person in line is celebrating their 46th year with us. Huge given that we have been around since 1968. If someone thinks they got missed, I definitely hear about it. I joke that it would be great if we viewed & celebrated our birthdays the way we do anniversaries.

4 年With a cup of Clout Coffee of course, Carole Sprunk !
Absolutely. I think work anniversaries are something that should definitely be celebrated, if not, at least recognized. It’s a huge accomplishment and shows dedication and loyalty to a company, and for some, the start of something new and exciting in a career. I like to celebrate by having a nice dinner.
