Celebrating Women's Month With Nashua
Nashua LTD: A Top Employer Committed to Talent and Diversity Nashua LTD has been recognised as a Top Employer this year, a testament to our commitment to nurturing talent and ensuring opportunities are accessible to all within the company.
Globally, women in business leadership roles have seen a positive trend, yet significant gaps remain. In 2023, women held?23%?of executive positions,?29%?of senior management positions and?37%?hold managerial positions globally.
As a true reflection of our values, Nashua is proud to say that women make up 55% of our total employees across SADC countries, represented across all levels of management and staff, and in all departments.
Additionally, 67% of our executive team are women. This accomplishment is particularly significant as we celebrate Women's Month, highlighting the incredible contributions of women in leadership roles at Nashua.
Today, we are excited to feature Adél Du Buisson, our Channel Sales Specialist, whose journey and insights exemplify the values that make Nashua a great place to work.
Meet Adél Du Buisson, Channel Sales Specialist at Nashua LTD Head Office
A Day in the Life of a Channel Sales Specialist
Q: Can you tell us about your role at Nashua LTD and what a typical day looks like for you?
Adél: I am a Channel Sales Specialist. My day typically starts with an early meeting with our CSO and the rest of the team, where we report on daily and monthly targets and expectations. Beyond that, there is no such thing as a 'typical day.' My role is to assist and support my franchises whenever required. I pride myself on always being just a phone call away, and some of my favourite days are when I get to accompany the Sales Executives to their customer meetings.
The Journey to Nashua LTD
Q: What motivated you to join Nashua LTD, and what has your journey been like since you started?
Adél: I have been privileged to spend most of my career with Nashua. I started as the receptionist at Nashua Newcastle in 1999. Since then, I have taken on various roles in Newcastle and eventually moved to Johannesburg in 2001. My experiences include Consumables Sales, Major Account Sales, and my last position within a franchise as General Sales Manager. I joined Nashua Limited in March 2024 as the only female Channel Sales Specialist. I believe my extensive experience within a franchise allows me to add significant value to this crucial position.
Balancing Professional and Personal Life
Q: How do you balance your professional responsibilities with your personal life, especially if you have family commitments?
Adél: I am fortunate to have a very supportive husband who understands my role and responsibilities and how passionate I am about Nashua and my career. Nashua Ltd is also very considerate, and I have always felt supported when I need to attend to family commitments. I believe in work-life balance, and thankfully, this has always come easily for me with the various support systems I have in place.

Overcoming Challenges as a Woman in Business
Q: Have you faced any challenges as a woman in your role, and how have you overcome them?
Adél: I am in the fortunate position of not being treated differently because I am a woman. I believe that regardless of gender, if you are confident in why you were selected for your position and the value and hard work you contribute daily, there is no need to feel intimidated.
Proud Accomplishments at Nashua LTD
Q: What accomplishments are you most proud of during your time at Nashua LTD?
Adél: My priority when I started was to build relationships with the various stakeholders in my franchises. They need to rely on and trust me as their first line of support to Nashua Ltd. Despite the many daily challenges we face as a channel, I am proud that I am seen as someone they can rely on, responsive and available 24/7.
Memorable Projects and Experiences
Q: Can you share a memorable experience or project you've worked on at Nashua LTD?
Adél: Although I haven't been at Nashua Ltd for very long, one memorable experience is my first involvement in the budgeting process with Nashua Ltd and my franchises. Until then, I had only been involved in one side of the process. I thoroughly enjoyed engaging with and planning for the new financial year from both a Nashua Ltd and franchise perspective.
Advice for Aspiring Female Leaders in Tech
Q: What advice would you give to other women aspiring to take on leadership roles in the tech industry?
Adél: Step out of your comfort zone and seize opportunities. Believe in yourself and your abilities. Embrace challenges. Find successful women mentors and ask for guidance. Don’t hesitate to showcase your skills and accomplishments. Always be adaptable to change. Share your ideas and perspectives and always empower others.
Remember, “leadership is not limited to titles; it’s about making an impact within your team and driving positive change.”
