In Fond Memory of a Legend in Indian Healthcare ; Dr. Ketayun Ardeshir Dinshaw

Hailing from a Parsi family in Kolkata, Dr. Ketayun Ardeshir Dinshaw is known to the whole country for her indelible contributions in the field of oncology. Her medical education journey began at the prestigious Vellore Christian Medical College, followed by specialized training in radiation therapy and oncology at Addenbrooke’s Hospital, Cambridge.

In 1974, Dr. Ketayun Ardeshir Dinshaw began her career as an assistant radiotherapist at Tata Memorial Hospital, a journey that spanned an impressive 35 years. During that tenure, Dr. Ketayun Ardeshir Dinshaw made her imprint in the cancer care field of India, most notably through her major contributions to the establishment of Tata Memorial Hospital's Advanced Centre for Treatment, Research, and Education in Cancer (ACTREC) in Mumbai.

Through her visionary leadership and research, Dr. Ketayun Ardeshir Dinshaw has significantly enhanced cancer treatment and patient care fields in the country. Her unwavering dedication and expertise have rightfully earned her the esteemed Padma Shri in 2001, a testament to her unparalleled contributions to cancer care in India.
