Having spent her early life in Bengaluru, earning her medical degree from St. John’s Medical College, Dr Kamini Rao dedicated her career to uplifting the healthcare sector in South India. Dr. Kamini specialized in Reproductive Endocrinology, Ovarian Physiology, and Assisted Reproductive Technology and her expertise have helped thousands of couples enjoy their dream of parenthood.

Credited with the birth of India’s First IVF Baby and South India’s First Babies born through ICSI (IntraCytoplasmic Sperm Injection) and Laser Assisted Hatching, Dr. Kamini has made immense contributions in the Indian healthcare sector. Her early contributions also include the establishment of South India’s first semen bank.
Across a clinical and research career spanning three decades and successfully playing the role as a driving force in the field of assisted reproductive technology (ART) in India ; Dr. Kamini Rao served as a beacon of hope to thousands of infertile couples.
Dr. Kamini Rao was awarded the Padma Shri award by the President of India in 2014 for all her contributions to Indian medicine, particularly in introducing new and innovative fertility measures. Other recognitions of her contributions in the field of Medicine include the Karnataka State Award (Rajyotsava Award), the Vidya Ratan Award, lifetime achievement honors Tribute Award from the Vivekananda Institute of Human Excellence, and a lot more.
