Celebrating Women Heroes #WomenHistoryMonth

Inspiration That Lead to #BeyondTheTitle

I remember my 1st day of onboarding at Insider, sitting with 350 of my colleagues and listening in to the monthly updates. The meeting was lead by our CEO, Hande Cilingir and met with a lot of enthusiasm from the team. For those who haven't had the fortune to participate in our monthly, we share information on achievements, the work done towards our annual and quarterly goals, introduction of new colleagues, upcoming global events and results & impact of our social responsibility projects.

It was then, I learned how the HR team emphasized on diversity and inclusion programs and this was spear headed by the co-founders. Over the years, I've met and learned from thousands of impressive professionals. Shedding light on their stories and experiences has been a long time dream. That's when my colleagues @Kirsty and @Daria came up with the concept of #BeyondTheTitle. The show was an instant success and loved by our almost 40,000 LinkedIn Followers. After 44 shows, 25 of which celebrate women leaders across 18 countries we continue to grow stronger and build impact.

So what did I learn during the lockdown from these awesome leaders?

  1. Value accountability but learn to measure circumstance
  2. Create a positive virtual environment to help your team stay driven and performance oriented
  3. Advocate diversity by showing results. Empowered women, empower women
  4. The best leaders learn to fail fast and build better
  5. Stealing a line from Adidas, "Impossible is nothing", as long as the spirit is willing
  6. Trailblazers pave the path for future generations. No glass ceiling should stop us from advancing
  7. Constantly review diversity and inclusion programs and make an active effort to help build skills programs to even the playing field.

This #WomenHistoryMonth, I want to celebrate all the inspiring women who we take for granted. These are 5 posts I absolutely loved from the Insider team:

Central Eastern Europe

United Kingdom

Spain

Netherlands

France

If you're wondering why I used the banner above, I think its apt for this post. No strategy could be complete or successful without the support and creativity of of our women colleagues.
