Celebrating Women in Diplomat South Africa in the month of August

Women at the helm of our organization

In a world where gender equality in leadership roles remains a significant challenge, our organization proudly stands as a beacon of empowerment and progressive thinking. Out of our seven-member Executive Committee, four are women. This composition not only reflects our commitment to gender equality but also underscores the transformative power of inclusive leadership.

Our organization is dedicated to creating an environment where women can thrive. We believe in equal opportunities for growth, development, and leadership. Our policies support work-life balance, continuous professional development and promotion from within, ensuring that our workforce can excel and inspire others.

As we celebrate the achievements of our women, we also recognize the incredible journeys some have undertaken. Here are glimpses into the stories of some of these remarkable women:

A phenomenal woman rising to the top

Rejoyce Mkwane - Telesales Supervisor

Rejoyce Mkwane

“It is with immense enthusiasm when you have achieved any goal. It is a constant reminder that life has no limitation. It could be any type of achievement and by knowing that you have accomplished something, it’s one of the greatest achievements and that you can achieve anything you set your mind too.

My journey has been a culmination of long-term commitments, sacrifices, perseverance, training and focus. Trying to balance my profession, personal and interests all at once. By that been said, nothing comes easy. It comes with putting hours in preparation of the mind and body for the test of physical, mental and emotional courage that awaits.

As a single parent, it is indeed a proud moment to completing my Bachelor of Business Administration in Retail Management (BBARM) qualification, competing in the ultimate human comrade marathon race for the very first time - attaining a bronze medal and being acknowledge as best employee of the year in the sales operation division.

Many may ask how I manage to accomplish all the above. There are numerous ways, but for me, it all started with prioritizing and maintaining a balanced lifestyle. The importance of self-care and creating room for growth.? Setting realistic goals and clear objectives, weather short-term or long-term and also enhancing my career prospects. What I’ve learned is that it’s never too late to make the right choices. Making the right decision may lead you in the right direction.

During my studies and training program, a lot of time and effort was required and at times I felt like giving up. But one thing for sure, giving up was not an option. I had to encourage myself, train my mind to be positive and envision the joy and fulfilment the moment my name is called out on stage and collecting my award/certificate or even crossing the finish line and collecting my medal.

Through it all, I came to understand that at times the start off may be difficult but the results of a good and disciplined finish off is an overwhelming and joyous moment. As Mihai Eminescu says; everything takes time and time takes everything. Therefore, keep going as time waits for no one.

I would like to thank everyone who supported and contributed throughout my journey, particularly Diplomat South Africa (DSA), I am forever grateful and thankful for the opportunity”.

Journey to obtaining the HR Qualification

Kimberly Molala - Recruitment Coordinator

Kimberly Molala

I obtained the qualification in Human Resources Management from the University of South Africa, which offers Open Distance and eLearning.

I started my journey at Diplomat as a receptionist and along the way I developed passion and interest in the Human Resources field, I knew that I had to obtain a qualification for me to be able to thrive. I’ve spent the past six years working towards making my dream of being a qualified HR professional come true.

It was not easy and seemed impossible due to financial and personal challenges along the way, however I persevered in maintaining discipline and focus whilst juggling work, parenting and studies. The bursary sponsorship from Diplomat SA offered me with an opportunity to fast track and finalize my qualification with ease.

?Throughout the journey I learned not to underestimate my strengths because I was born with a purpose and blessed with the power to achieve, I am grateful that I have had this opportunity and ability.

Successful completion of this qualification means that I’m now part of the circle of excellence and armed with all the requisite knowledge and skills, that will hopefully enable me to thrive and be encouraged to transfer the knowledge gained to transform society with a local and global outlook in defining a tomorrow.

I am sincerely grateful and thankful to the Diplomat family for the consistent support throughout this journey.

“It always seems impossible until it is done.” Nelson Mandela
