Celebrating the Women Behind ufeelu
Hello Feel Fam,?
As we celebrate the upcoming International Women's Day, we're excited to highlight two inspiring women whose passion, resilience, and vision are making waves at ufeelu . Julian Jamie Alessandroni and Alexandrea Scott have carved their own paths. Their journeys are not only as testament to their personal grit but also a powerful reminder of what women can achieve when they lead with purpose and authenticity.?
What advice would you give to young women aspiring to follow in your footsteps?
Building a?career in the infancy of the regulated cannabis space can feel quite daunting at times. Securing a support system, both personally and professionally, has helped me immensely. Connecting with women who’ve been through similar trajectories (Desirée Rose Di Savino would be a prime example for me) has helped guide and comfort me when I feel isolated in both difficult times AND successful moments.?
How do you maintain balance between work, life, and self-care?
Balance? HAH! Frankly, it’s a blend. My husband and family are incredibly supportive as this business has grown significantly over the past couple of years. Which, naturally, means my role has as well. I am privileged to have grown in a space that is wellness focused — incorporating products I’ve become familiar with into my daytime and nighttime routines has helped bring calmness into my chaotic day-to-day.?
How do you continue to learn and grow both personally and professionally?
My children keep me on my toes. Working full-time while maintaining a household, marriage, friendships and personal well-being can feel impossible. With our lives and schedules constantly?evolving, it encourages me to exercise my adaptability and (as selfish a this may read) put myself first. You can’t pour from an empty cup, and for the wellbeing of not just myself but for my family and work, I ensure my cup is full before tipping the excess into the other aspects of my life. ?
What’s a fun fact about you that not many people know?
I love to sing! Although I may bust out in song from time-to-time, it’s often not in my true voice. Unlike my parents who were formally trained actors who grew up in the theatre, I was taught to find my vibrato at a relatively young age. However, I won’t be hitting the stage anytime soon — I’ll stick to the phones.
What inspired you to pursue your career??
For me, the COVID lockdown was a blessing in disguise. After nearly a decade in the corporate world, it gave me the chance to hit the reset button and rethink my path. Since I’ve always loved cannabis, I decided to get my CannSell certification, start budtending, and just go with the flow. Working directly with consumers felt so natural. I finally knew I was in the right industry. Everything clicked when I tried the Calm Drops from ufeelu . They honestly changed my life (that's a story for another day). From that point on, I knew I wanted to be part of the company when the time was right. I’ve always been passionate about showing people that cannabis is about so much more than just getting high, and that really fueled my drive to go all in.
What advice would you give to young women aspiring to follow in your footsteps?
Take advantages of those free courses - join the communities where product discussions are happening. There is so much to learn in this field, and those who say they know everything are wrong. Go to the networking event, if your friends can't attend reach out to your Instagram / LinkedIn community to see if you can meet someone there. You never know what opportunities can come your way if you simply put yourself out there.?
Who is someone you look up to in the industry??
Since joining the cannabis industry, I've really looked up to Jaime Lipowitz . She has an incredible story and has created an amazing community of budtenders who are sharing honest opinions about products in the Canadian market. If you're a budtender you need to join ASAP if you haven't already! Free certifications? YES PLEASE.?
What’s a fun fact about you that not many people know?
I call myself Gypsy Tokes on socials because I was adopted from Romania when I was 3 months old!?
