A Journey of 20 Years in Entrepreneurship...
I woke up this morning to my LinkedIn inbox flooded with messages celebrating my 18 years (twenty if you count the start of my makeup career) of being an entrepreneur. That just made me stop for a minute. It made me sit and reflect, like holy sh*t I did that! I did this while sipping my delicious, iced coffee with homemade vanilla bean almond milk. Side note, my recipe is currently trending online. It is so good and only takes two minutes to make! You’ll never buy milk from the store again.
I survived traveling overseas every single week, working on more than 100 mega cruise ships, super yachts, private jets, going through chemo, being misdiagnosed, having to become an overnight medical malpractice attorney, surviving the pandemic, and so much more! I did all of that, and using it as an example that anything is possible if you just put in the work!
Entrepreneurship can be extremely lonely, dark, depressing, and frustrating but it can also be the most rewarding and beneficial decision you could ever make in your career, and that is where my head is at. I am so grateful for the roller coaster rides, even if they weren’t planned. It made me that much stronger. It gave me the experience (although sometimes I did not ask for it) to become the absolute best version of myself so that I am able to help others do the same both personally and professionally.
Life has led me down one unbelievable path. I have gone through absolute h*ll and back so many times. But each one of those times I ended up creating something that would help change the lives of those around me as well as the ones that hire me, and see my content online.
I am currently celebrating my seventh year of podcasting. I started that show because I was told I would be blind and paralyzed and at the end of the day the only way I would be able to share my story and make money to survive was to use my voice. One day I woke up and made the decision to start not having any idea of what podcasting was about. I just figured it out as I went along. That turned into a globally syndicated show which then turned my business into a podcast development company. I have been writing, hosting, recording, and producing other shows since. The demand was there so per usual, so I created something that needed to exist. This was in 2017 before the podcast market was saturated.
I have always utilized LinkedIn. Since 2012, I have been active on the platform. I wrote another newsletter about that which you can read here. Do you know how I made extra money when I was rolled up in a ball and stuck in bed during chemo treatments? I was getting paid to update LinkedIn profiles and coach clients, and I still do that to this day! I will only do what I am passionate about.
Before I got “sick” I was living my best life creating these one-of-a-kind luxury experience for my high-net-worth clients who would fly into Las Vegas on their aircraft(s). Plural because some of them had two. I partnered with the best of the best that Las Vegas had to offer. People, places, and all the things. I was the “it girl” when it came to this. Every idea I had in my mind became a reality, and those relationships made, and experiences shared on LinkedIn were making me $20K per day throughout one of the biggest fight weekends. I had armed security with me for seven straight days. It was absolutely insane. OMG! The stories I could tell. Well, come to think of it I think a lot are already on my show. lol
I wrote a personal growth book in the middle of the pandemic after finishing my six medical malpractice cases to help others once again. I was also in the middle of developing nine other shows. I had already experienced what it was like to lose everything when I got sick, so I was able to help so many small businesses survive during that time, as crazy as it sounds I had the experience.
Most recently, I was struggling with my depression, ptsd, and a horrible case of writer’s block that decided to pay me a visit when I was attempting to finish my second personal growth book. So, I took a much-needed break. During that time, I went down a colorful art "adventure" and ended up launching my children book series with its first collection being coloring books. Coloring Collins was created, designed, and launched by yours truly within 90 days! I am so proud of them! Side note, if you are looking for ways to generate more passive income for your household or add to your business, this is just one way. I am full of these profitable ideas! Anything is possible!
I wanted to share the thoughts that were going through my mind this morning because I think it is important to tell you why I am so passionate about personal growth and business development. This is why! I take chances. I create what needs to exist in the market. I stand out because of my personality of not sugar coating anything and just being real! I also don’t mind failing. Did you know I once had a cosmetics line that I dumped $60K into to create and launch? Exactly!
I know for a fact I got a second chance in life to do this! Being an entrepreneur allows you to have the freedom to do all of this and I wouldn’t have it any other way. If you are ready to get organized to become the most productive version of yourself both personally and professionally now is the time for you to start. Life is short. Take the chance today, as you never know what can happen tomorrow. Make money from doing what makes you feel good, and proud when you lay your head down at night!
If you made it this far, I appreciate you! If you are looking to take your life to the next level you deserve to be at, there are a few ways I can help you. And if you don’t need any help, I would love for you to share this with your community because you never know who is in need, and on the verge of giving up. I also have a wonderful free affiliate program that you can become a member of today. More info here!
