Celebrating Success

Celebrating Success

As some of you may have seen, I had the privilege to attend a graduation ceremony one of our amazing employers, Sharp Business Systems UK, held for 15 of their apprentices. This event included some of our very own IT apprentices and was one of the proudest moments in my career to date. The event was a huge success and a testament to how highly valued Sharp’s apprentices are, which got me thinking… do we celebrate success enough? Probably not!

Everyone loves to be told they’re doing a great job, get the recognition for their hard work and determination. Now imagine how immensely satisfying and rewarding that is for a young apprentice new to the world of work, wouldn’t you want to be responsible for that massive smile and awkward swagger up to receive their certificate.

I’m exceptionally proud to be a part of a company which prioritises celebrating success both inside and out, we have numerous awards for our apprentices and employers to be nominated for including; Apprentice of The Month, Learner of The Week and Apprentice/ Employer of the Year. Something small like this may not be something which a seasoned veteran of the 9-5 racket like yourself would think of as hugely important, but for our apprentices this can be a huge boost to their confidence and keep them striding to make growth.

As leaders, managers and potential mentors, you have the opportunity to influence not just your own performance but ensuring that your team members are motivated to go above and beyond in their day to day tasks. You can introduce a young individual to a positive and supportive work environment filled with praise, incentives and rewards and see the visible growth in their apprenticeship course and their work within your business.

Apprenticeships are a fantastic opportunity for someone to gain a qualification and real-life experiences, but it is also an opportunity for you to be a significant positive role model and factor in their emotional development. Celebrate people’s success and there will undoubtedly be more successes to celebrate, one of the few times a self-fulfilling prophecy is a good thing!!

Drop me a message if you would like to know some more about our individual success stories across our various programmes, we have so many and I always love to talk about them!
