Celebrating the Spirit of Tradition and Togetherness at SNS College of Technology: Pongal 2025

At SNS College of Technology, we believe in fostering a sense of community while celebrating the rich traditions that define our cultural heritage. This year’s Pongal celebrations were no exception, bringing together students, faculty, and staff for a vibrant and joyous festival.

Pongal, a harvest festival that honors farmers and marks gratitude to the Sun God, was celebrated with traditional fervor on campus. The event was a delightful blend of cultural performances, games, and rituals that encapsulated the spirit of the season.

The festivities began with the traditional Pongal preparation ceremony, where students and staff came together to cook the traditional dish, symbolizing prosperity and gratitude. The aroma of freshly prepared Pongal filled the air, creating a sense of warmth and togetherness.

Cultural performances added color to the celebrations. From folk dances like Kummi to traditional music performances, the students showcased their talent and passion for preserving cultural arts. The highlight of the event was the Kolam competition, where creativity flourished as participants designed intricate and colorful rangolis, each a masterpiece in its own right.

Our beloved faculty members also participated enthusiastically, joining hands with students in the games and rituals, fostering a unique bond beyond the classroom. Traditional games like Uriyadi and tug-of-war rekindled childhood memories while spreading joy and laughter.
