Celebrating the small wins
I'm a fan of celebrating wins. I probably had my biggest win of my professional life at the start of July last year. But I think celebrating the small wins is sometimes incredibly motivating. It's what makes us feel good and when we feel good, we can do great things.
So I'm gonna celebrate a few small wins this week. It's been a fantastic week and here's why:
- half term so kids home, happy, relaxed, creative and fun
- responsive comms from my eldest who has finished his uni studies for the summer and is coming home. I am beyond excited to have him back home again - absolutely hate it when he's not here (I know, I know, I need to get used to this faster)
- lots of great work on the go, feeling quite creative and inspired by current projects which includes lots of designing, lots of collaboration
- finished planning two marketing workshops which I'll be delivering next week, one for Manor Royal BID and one for >BREAKTHROUGH
- learned how to correctly pronounce the name of one of my favourite artists (I've been butchering his name for ages *blush*) thanks to South South's online event featuring Danh Vo in conversation about his exhibition at the National Museum of Art, Osaka
- found the perfect plant for my new fireplace hearth in my office (best plant shop at Brighton Open Market)
- seriously loving The Orphan Master's Son which I'm just over halfway through after a couple of start/stop distractions (thank you Kate Regester for the recommendation) I cannot put it down
- my talented art teacher's show at Phoenix Art Space in Brighton opens today June 4 (photo by artist Emily Jolley)
- joined English Heritage using all those Tesco clubcard points I forgot I had! (gearing up for another summer staycation instead of our usual international adventures)
- got the domain name megfenn.design (not totally sure why, I don't have a website nor am I planning to have one - I just fancied it)
- arranged two IRL coffee catch ups - exciting!
Happy Friday, enjoy the weekend and celebrate all the wins.

I am your training department, when you don't have one in-house. I develop great managers and ministers. I give your staff new skills. I sort those L&D projects hanging about on your to-do list.
