Sense of humor well-used creates goodwill and enhances learning
October is Pajamas and Slippers Month, a cozy celebration that seems appropriate in the Northern Hemisphere as nights get longer and cooler. But after a day of researching both, it’s apparent to me that slippers are a lot more fun.
Humans have always tried to keep their feet warm and comfortable, which means slippers have a long history featuring many styles from indigenous moccasins, to Prince Albert’s (a style named after Queen Victoria’s consort who helped popularize them in the 1800s), to Venetian Furlanes favored by gondoliers. My personal favorites are the seemingly limitless varieties of ankle-covering fuzzies that exemplify fun. I personally uncovered images of:
