Celebrating Silver Pride: MisterB&B’s Inclusive Campaign

This week's #FridayAd feels like it has come at the perfect moment.

On our recent podcast, we tackled the question ‘How can brands authentically support Pride Month for the LGBTQ+ community?’ With a view of how the impact of doing it right, or wrong has an astounding effect on a brand.

Also, this week was the Silver Marketing Association ’s 2024 summit where marketers met to discuss the ‘silver’ market, including a session from the ever-inspirational Jo Rzymowska on ’Marketing Love and Sex in Later Life’ which we heard went down a storm.

And of course, we are coming to the end of Pride Month itself with #InternationalPrideDay today.

How does this all link to this week's ad?

The perfect culmination of all of this is misterb&b 's manifesto for their Silver Pride campaign. An LGBTQ+ accommodation platform, MisterB&B has put the Silver Pride audience at the forefront of their recent efforts, bringing in the voices of the generation who feel like they are being forgotten from the dizzy sights of Pride festivals, diving into the insight of lack of accessibility and the beginning of an exclusion of people in a moment where we thrive on inclusivity.

Working alongside Association Les Audacieuses & les Audacieux , an inclusive, cross-generation co-housing project for the elderly LGBTQ+ community,?MisterB&B’s use of real people and emotion brings to life what many must be feeling and shows how they are supporting people authentically to make a real difference.

Maybe it’s because I’m part of the queer community that I love this film, perhaps not our usual #FridayAd glamour and budgets, but like I said on our podcast, it’s great to see yourself reflected in the spaces you purchase, although, I’m not quite silver yet, I’m more so than I was last year (hence the blonde hair dye), I know this is a brand I will definitely include in my travel plans now.

At Brand Champions, we work so much on our Wave models of defined audiences, it's great to see key messaging and support of this specific group play out through this campaign.
