Celebrating Pride Month: Interview with the momox DE&I Committee
Pride month is here! ?? And it's the perfect time to reflect on the importance of Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion (DE&I) in our workplace and beyond.
DE&I is not just a set of policies or programs but a fundamental ethos that ensures everyone, regardless of their background, identity, or experiences, feels valued and included.
To delve deeper into this crucial topic, we sat down with members of our DE&I team at momox to discover their views, experiences, and their favorite DE&I moments with us. Here's what they said:
Why are you on the DE&I Committee?
?? Tina (she/her): Acknowledging our privileges, as well as the fact that in our society not everyone has the same chances in life, is the first step in changing this. As a very privileged person in many senses, I see it as my responsibility to work towards a world that is less discriminating for all of us. Every single action we take matters, even if it only impacts one person.
?? Michael (he/him): As a person of the LGBTQIA+ community (a cisgender gay man), I want to be a part of momox's DE&I Team to actively contribute to fostering an inclusive work environment. My personal experience with diversity and discrimination sensitizes me to the importance of diversity and inclusion in the workplace. I view it as my responsibility and opportunity to assist momox in creating an even more open and supportive environment for all employees, regardless of their sexual orientation or other dimensions of diversity.
?? Nele (she/her): Being part of the LGBTQIA+ community, I love that there is a dedicated DE&I team at momox—something I didn't have at previous jobs. I really value the team's commitment to creating a more inclusive work environment where everyone feels safe to express themselves regardless of background, gender, culture, etc., and wanted to be a part of that.
?? Alex (she/her): At momox, we have the opportunity to change the world, and to me, that also means redefining how employers should act. No one should have to pretend to be someone else to be accepted. If we, as a team, can contribute to this, the world will become a little better. I hope we can be pioneers and set an example for others.
?? Moni (she/her): I truly believe that as long as one person is not free, we all are not free. That's why fighting for equity is inevitable, not only on the individual level but, even more importantly, on the institutional and systemic level. Therefore, companies are responsible for taking action, creating equal structures, inclusive environments, and a safer place for everyone. Being a WOC (Woman of Color) means, unfortunately, I experience discrimination and inequality myself, so being part of the DE&I Team is not only ideological but also personal.

?? Tina (she/her): When after the Diversity Spaces, people say they took something valuable from it.
?? Michael (he/him): When the transgender guide was introduced by the marketing team in the momox layout.
?? Nele (she/her): Probably the first look at the trans* guide and Pride (CSD).
?? Alex (she/her): Seeing our logo come to life and having our transgender guideline in my hand.
?? Moni (she/her): Celebrating CSD with so many momoxians and participating in all the Diversity Spaces where we share and learn.
Fostering an inclusive environment where everyone can thrive is essential. A strong DE&I framework contributes to a more innovative, productive, and harmonious workplace. It brings different perspectives to the table, encourages empathy and understanding, and ultimately drives better business outcomes. Let's keep creating a world where everyone belongs, grows, and shines.
