Celebrating Pride Month

Happy Pride!??? To celebrate, we asked members of Du You, our LGBTQ+ ERG, to share their thoughts on Pride, why they joined the ERG, and what Du You means to them.

Environmental Compliance Specialist Morgen Wells shares that "Du You means never having to be ashamed of who you are in the workplace."

Why did you join DuYou?

I joined Du You because I am a part of the LGBTQIA+ community and I wanted to see what Dudek offered regarding inclusivity and general support for marginalized groups. As a newer member of this company, it has been nice getting to know the people in this group especially as a remote worker, because I would never have a reason to work with many of these folks otherwise.

Why is it important that this group exists?

This group is important because it allows Dudek employees to find a community within the company and it also allows us to brainstorm ideas on how Dudek can show up for its LGBTQIA+ employees even more.

What does DuYou mean to you?

Du You means never having to be ashamed of who you are in the workplace. It means having uncomfortable conversations to lay the groundwork for a better tomorrow. It means expressing who you are and being accepted for it. I am glad that a space has been made for everyone, member or ally.

How do you celebrate, recognize, or commemorate Pride?

I celebrate?pride?by going to local events where I get to see just how vibrant and thriving our community is despite being in a more conservative area. It's like seeing flowers growing through concrete, beautiful and resilient.
