Celebrating Pride

As a medical communications company, ClinicalMind strives to intentionally represent diversity in all the work that we do. We understand that representation matters, and we continually work to be inclusive with our storytelling and imagery. We are also fortunate to work with clients who share these values and have had opportunities to work with teams and projects that educate, support, and highlight the entire spectrum of the LGTBQIA+ community.

Often these projects deeply impact the team members that work on them. We’d like to take a moment to share some of the amazing work developed by our clients at the Gilead Sciences HIV Franchise. Our team was fortunate enough to help promote Blind Angels, a docuseries focusing on LGBTQIA+ Communities fighting the HIV Epidemic, stigma, and prejudice in the American South.

Eric Zechman, Senior Medical Director at CM Propel, discussed his experience and what he took away from this project:

“When we talk about LGBTQIA+ communities – we have a lot of labels we use for people. To me, that’s often awkward and limiting. I’ve learned that we really need to listen to people and let them speak for themselves. As a gay man, this really made me step back from my point of view a bit and start to think about all these different points of view that I may not understand necessarily, but that I need to respect and hear from. There are lessons that can be applied across many of our accounts and across the company – just in terms of listening to people and remembering what we’re doing is about them.”

We are incredibly thankful to have been a part of such a special series. These projects not only show the enormous strength of LGBTQIA+ communities, but further enhance the idea that categories do not define us. We celebrate these successes and commit to continually and intentionally provide LGBTQIA+ representation across the full spectrum of healthcare and access projects and concerns.
