A FEVER WITH A DIFFERENCE

 

Doctor, I’ve been bitten

by this infamous bug

I have indeed been smitten

and now have that fever afflictin’

so Doctor can you help

for I’m unable to work; 

I’m unable to care for myself

and my responsibilities I do shirk

I’ve renounced power and pelf

for I’ve happily been bitten

by this wondrous poetry bug

and with poetic fervor have I written

so now can I have a hug.

Doctor, I’ve been bitten

By a bug so powerful

which within me has hidden

and my words they are a spilling

since there’s no antidote.

To stop the words from overflowing

over the pages that I wrote

Doctor I need your remedy

therefore please help me

by prescribing unto others

that they do read me
