Celebrating P&G’s 2021 Analytics & Insights Champions of Equality and Inclusion
At P&G, we are committed to honoring the individuality and unique contributions of our people while creating an environment where we can be our best and bring our best every day. We know that for people to grow, succeed and thrive, we first must create a workplace that encourages our employees to bring their whole selves to work every day.
Equality and Inclusion are even more fundamental to the work we do in Analytics & Insights (A&I) and how we develop insights and leverage data, analytics & algorithms that drive sustainable business growth with all our consumers.
- We focus on deeply understanding, reflecting and championing the authentic and culturally relevant insights of the diversity of our consumers.
- We strive to have a diverse mix of employees that reflect the full diversity of the consumers we serve.
- We partner with vendors and external partners that enable and build equality and inclusion with us.
Through all we do, we want to be a positive industry influence that enables and transforms Analytics and Insights into a driving force for good in building a world where equality and inclusion is achievable for all. This positive force starts inside of P&G in our A&I organization.
As we celebrate equality and inclusion this month, we proudly recognized five A&I Champions of Equality and Inclusion from around the world who are demonstrating multiple aspects of driving equality and inclusion in support of the organization and business.
Aaron Steele, Senior Director - North America Hair Care Analytics & Insights. Aaron has been a champion for the black community for years, and in light of the social unrest in the US during 2020, he doubled down on his efforts to drive understanding, support and unity for the Black community in P&G. Aaron ran multiple sessions across regions, businesses and with partner agencies to share his experience as a Black guy in America (‘Walking a mile in my Shoes’). Aaron’s story opened peoples’ eyes to the reality and left them compelled to do something about it. In addition, Aaron led employee discussions to help others tell their story, share their experiences at P&G and as a result, build stronger relationships with their managers.
Haryono, Senior Director, Analytics & Insights – Indonesia SMO. Hary has been an instrumental leader in establishing a local Indonesia organization. He built the Indonesia A&I organization by bringing in, coaching and developing strong, Indonesian talent. On the business front, Hary has focused on ensuring the different ethnic groups of Indonesian consumers are represented in our research, revealing new, authentic insights, representing local contexts and all of Indonesian consumers.
Shanese Short, Director, Analytics & Insights – Fabric Care. Shanese is a champion for Diversity and Inclusion in Fabric Care and for A&I. In the last 12 months alone, she led major programs to educate, inspire, and build capability in the organization. A Black History Month Program with “Let’s Talk Tuesday” and Pop Up shops for Black-owned businesses. A STANDOUT recruiting program to bring diverse talent into A&I. And a new “Work Life Integration” Pillar to enable better work life balance, creating “The Brilliant Balance Playbook”.
Ahoo Steen, Senior Director - Analytics & Insights, Global Home. Ahoo is a role model for the P&G Geneva Analytics and Insights female community. As a working mom of three, she understands the struggles, the needs and the impact on work and life when women aren’t feeling like equals in the workplace. Ahoo established a ‘Fireside Chat’ program in Geneva to create a community of women in Analytics & Insights who share and get inspired by other women who are going through similar situations. She openly shares her own experiences, encourages other women to share their stories and enrolls women from outside P&G to share their perspective too. She is an amazing mentor to many.
Andrea Wilkerson, Senior Director – Analytics & Insights, Global Personal Care. Leading the Diversity Beyond Numbers program for North America Personal Care, Andrea has created a cultural shift to ensure the organization is looking for insights, opportunities and input from key groups that have been historically underrepresented in our learning and marketing efforts: African American, Hispanic, Asian Pacific and People with Disabilities. The foundation for the work is focused on superiority, in our product, packaging, communication, retail and consumer/customer value to understand where we are, and where we need to be, to win with these important consumer groups. Andrea has established an approach that is being broadly leveraged across P&G.
My sincerest congratulations to our five Analytics and Insights E&I Champions. You are lighting the way for P&G and our organization to further ingrain Equality & Inclusion in everything we do!!
