Celebrating Our Success Together

Hey there, fabulous friends, partners, donors, and advocates!

Can we take a moment to marvel together? If someone had whispered in my ear back in March of 2020, as we were launching the Televerde Foundation, that we'd be where we are today in just three short years, I wouldn’t have believed it. Yet here we are--755 women strong, having journeyed through our programs, and a whopping 455 of these incredible souls stepping out into the world with not just dreams but real, tangible futures ahead of them. We're talking 96% employment within 38 days of release, and the starting line is at an average salary of $38,367!

But wait, there's more—the cherry on the cake? A 0% recidivism rate. Zero. Zip. Nada. How's that for breaking cycles and building bridges?

Now, let's widen our lens for a second. With 190,600 women currently behind bars in the U.S., making up about 10% of the total incarcerated population, the urgency of our mission can't be overstated. These women are our moms, daughters, sisters, aunts, and neighbors—80% percent of them are mothers, to be exact. This is our collective challenge, and we're stepping up to meet it head-on.

Because here's the thing—what we do extends beyond employment. It's about the ripple effect. When one woman finds her footing, she transforms her life, and because of that single transformation, her children and community also feel the impact. Just writing that gives my chill bumps! Empowering the least among us allows us to live up to our ideals and ensure that the land of opportunity lives up to its name for everyone.

So, why am I sharing all this? Because our 2023 Impact Report is hot off the press, and it's a must-read. Not just for the stats and figures, which are, by the way, absolutely incredible. It's about the stories, the journeys, and the lives touched and transformed that will inspire you. It's a testament to the power of community, support, and an unwavering belief in second chances.

Many of you know me. I like to push the bar. This means we’re not stopping here. We're just getting started. Our vision? A world brimming with opportunities for all to succeed. And guess what? It really does take a village. We say no to no one. From our participants to our amazing donors, volunteers, and staff, this report is for you. It's about what we can accomplish when we unite by a common cause.
