Celebrating our region's small business community

As we embrace the spirit of National Small Business Month, I wanted to take a moment to recognize the remarkable contributions of our small business community here in Cincinnati. It’s no secret that small businesses are vital to both our economy and the vibrancy of our region, as they provide unique services, products, experiences, and more for those who live here and visit.

At the Cincinnati Regional Chamber, supporting small businesses is a priority. We provide valuable benefits to our members, like savings on workers' compensation with Sheakley , health care with Medical Mutual , and office supplies with 欧迪办公 / OfficeMax . And we made “a strong business community” a foundational goal of our new strategic plan. When our business community wins, our region wins. That’s why we’ve been intentional about investing in small businesses by partnering with Duke Energy Corporation on initiatives like Storefronts to the Forefront and our Small Business Grants program. This year, we’re excited to have Huntington National Bank join Duke Energy as a presenting investor for Storefronts to the Forefront, which enables us to provide grant money to seven businesses in seven regional business districts and tell the story of each with our media partner FOX19. Keep your eyes open for these stories as we celebrate these business districts from June through December, including a Shop Local Day on November 23rd.

Our small business members represent a diverse range of industries, from retail and hospitality to manufacturing and technology. Small businesses provide our dinner when we don’t feel like cooking, they get our cars back on the road, they manufacture parts that go into jet engines, and so much more. Small businesses – and the entrepreneurs and leaders who run them – are the cornerstones of our communities and catalysts for growth.

Throughout this month, we will spotlight entrepreneurial spirit, ingenuity, and resilience of our region’s small businesses. And I hope you will join us in celebrating them. It bears repeating – small businesses build communities, grow our economy, and define our cultural vibrancy.
