Celebrating Our Carbon Neutral Status: Pushing Boundaries in Sustainable Printing
PressOn UK
Operating throughout the UK, PressOn are one of the country's leading large format digital printers
We are excited to announce that PressOn has recently achieved carbon-neutral status! ( Carbon Neutral Britain? ) This achievement is a testament to our ongoing commitment to sustainability and reducing our environmental impact. From our printing processes to our choice of materials, we have been pushing boundaries to ensure that sustainability is at the heart of what we do.
Our journey towards this milestone has been challenging, yet rewarding. We have always known that the practices we use today will not be around forever, and with that understanding, we are constantly evolving. We strive to keep up with the latest industry developments, always searching for new ways to improve our sustainable practices.
Testing New Substrates: Triagreen Bubble Board Case Study
In line with this commitment, we recently took on an exciting project in collaboration with the Hebridean Whale and Dolphin Trust . We printed eight A0-sized posters (841 x 1190 mm) using our R Series printers on a new material called Triagreen Bubble Board. This polypropylene board is 100% recyclable and contains a green core made entirely from recycled materials. Not only did it offer exceptional print quality, but it also proved to be a great sustainable alternative for our client.
Inspired by this success, we decided to put Triagreen Bubble Board to the test as a potential replacement for outdoor hoardings, which we currently produce using ACM. Starting on July 3rd, we exposed a panel to the elements, testing its durability under extreme weather conditions. Despite the panel’s resilience against rain and moderate heat, it didn’t perform as well under high temperatures, meaning it's not quite ready to replace ACM.
Although this wasn’t the outcome we had hoped for, it doesn’t stop our commitment to finding and testing new sustainable materials. As we've learned from this experience, it’s important to keep trying and innovating in order to provide our customers with the most eco-friendly options available.

HP Partnership: A Key to Sustainable Printing
One of the pillars of our sustainability success is our long-standing partnership with HP. Their innovative technology plays a crucial role in minimising our environmental footprint. By using HP’s solvent-free, recyclable cartridge latex inks, we are able to offer high-quality prints while significantly reducing harmful emissions. In addition, HP’s "take-back" scheme ensures that at the end of their lifecycle, all of our HP equipment is returned and responsibly recycled.
This collaboration with HP not only helps us reduce waste but also supports our commitment to sustainable printing at every stage of a project, from concept to completion. By working with local manufacturers and leveraging HP’s forward-thinking solutions, we continue to make strides toward greener printing while maintaining top-tier quality for our clients.
Our Sustainable Practices: Zero to Landfill
Our commitment to sustainability doesn’t stop at materials. We’re also proud of our zero-to-landfill approach, which we achieve by partnering with waste management specialists. With their help, none of our waste goes to landfill—it’s either recycled or processed for energy recovery. We also use recyclable vehicle liveries, solvent-free inks, and work with local manufacturers to reduce carbon emissions.
At the end of the day, our goal is clear: to offer you the most sustainable, high-quality print solutions available while doing our part for the environment.
Thank you for supporting us on this journey!
