Happy 2019, everyone! We start this year on a high note. Exhilarated to announce that we will be celebrating our 100th Meetup for the fiscal year of 2019 this January. This is exciting news for various reasons – first, because our products have received a raving response at these Meetups encouraging us to do more of them across all of North America. Second, because this has prepped the ground and ecosystem to support the scale. Third, because this effort has helped us to bring all stakeholders on the same stage – evangelists, support teams, third-party Meetup groups, and of course – developers to achieve our big mission - GAIN DEVELOPER MINDSHARE! So, join us in celebrating this proud moment with us, and with your help and support, we look forward to the next 100 in 2019.

Recapping an Awesome 2018 December

2018 has zipped by and 2019 is here! I am sure all of you enjoyed a great break and spent some quality time with your family and friends. We wanted to quickly take you through the Meetup successes in December, as there were a couple of firsts.

1)   The Autonomous Database and Data Warehouse Workshop Meetups – we drove our few first labs on this critical cloud offering from Oracle and saw interest from data scientists, DBAs, architects, and developers across various companies.

2)   Digital Assistants Virtual Workshop Meetup – we ran our first virtual workshop Meetup with AI Tech Talks, and it was a hit. Over ~100 developers joined this workshop from all over the globe!

3)   The Blockchain Mega Meetup – we hosted our biggest Blockchain Meetup in Santa Clara with over 200 people in attendance. More along the lines of a conference, this event brought Blockchain product leaders, startups, evangelists and industry aficionados together.

Blockchain Based App Dev for the Cloud Enterprise – Over 200 attendees from Deutsche Bank, Intel, Merrill Lynch, VMware, and Apple to name a few. A unique Meetup designed along the lines of a third-party conference with startup pitches, panels, and keynote. The Think Autonomous Workshop Drive

Our Debut Autonomous Database and Data warehouse labs happened in December with two big Machine Learning groups in the Bay Area. The first two were led by Sai Valluri from Product Marketing and Nicole Bordwell from Sales Engineering. We have big plans for this tech in 2019, so stay tuned to hear from us and enjoy this social traction.

Our First Virtual Digital Assistants Workshop Meetup                    

Very excited to announce our first virtual Digital Assistants workshop with Seattle AI Tech Talks! More than 200 developers attended the session around the globe with lots of interest in the cloud platform trial. We plan to do a lot more of these next year with several other groups. Oracle Integration Cloud Workshop

Our first Oracle Integration workshop went really well, filling the room quickly with enthusiastic prospects and some customers. We were supported by our evangelist Keith Marshall from the Integration solution engineering team to take us through a use case to integrate apps and data using the Oracle Cloud. January 2019 Meetups – What’s Ahead?

Lots of things. We will continue our focus on the workshops and invest in evangelism for our core areas - Autonomous Data Warehouse and Database, OCI, Blockchain, Integration, and Digital Assistants and their tight coupling with the apps. Containers, Kubernetes, Serverless, Analytics and several other critical pieces of tech will be a priority. Our focus will also be to get more share of agenda with the top Meetup groups across North America. And of course, to establish a larger footprint, we will need a larger team, so we will continue to recruit. Let 2019 begin!
