Celebrating Orthodox Pascha
Today is the Christian Orthodox celebration of the Resurrection of Jesus Christ and I would like to congratulate everyone on this, regardless of their beliefs and attitudes towards religion.
Orthodox Christians are taught to practice fasting, good works and prayer for others and especially those who we don't get on with or don't get on with us, as well as supporting anyone who is sick, suffering, homeless or persecuted.
From today you will hear Orthodox Christians greet each other with: "Christ is risen!" and respond with: "He is risen indeed!".
It provides the ultimate delivery of the 'workplace wellbeing' concept that all companies are hoping to achieve by encouraging everyone to take care of those in need, without becoming an unnecessary burden to anyone else, with particular emphasis on the word 'unnecessary'.
The picture above was taken at last night's Paschal service at the Orthodox Cathedral in Ennismore Gardens, Knightsbridge, which will have been repeated at Orthodox churches and communities throughout the UK and Ireland and many others around the world.
If any of my contacts would like to hear more about the Orthodox faith and find their nearest Church or community, please feel free to contact me and I will do my best to help.
