Celebrating Nurses Week and Hospital Week

I have a special place in my heart for nursing. My mom was a nurse and ultimately a nursing leader. From an early age, I knew the most important thing to her was to take care of people both physically and emotionally. It’s because of her influence that I have been blessed with the same desire as a leader, to take care of others and put people first.

During Nurses Week and Hospital Week, I want to convey my deepest gratitude to all nurses and health care workers for their hard work, dedication and sacrifice.

I also urge all health care workers to take time for self-care. Having watched my mom, I know firsthand how important it is to take care of yourself. As we slowly return to a more normal life, I’m mindful that the impact of 2020 could linger for some time. Health care workers are all heroes, but even heroes need time to recharge and renew.

While we take time to honor you during Nurses Week and Hospital Week, my appreciation does not begin or end with these national weeks of recognition. I appreciate nurses and all health care workers today and every day for the sacrifices they make to provide exceptional care to patients and families, just like my mom did.

With gratitude,

Kevin Manemann
