Celebrating National Manufacturing Day 2024
General Dynamics Mission Systems
We develop mission critical solutions for those that lead, serve and protect the world we live in.
On National Manufacturing Day, we celebrate the approximately 2,300 General Dynamics Mission Systems workers who are leading a new manufacturing generation. It’s important to recognize the men and women who play a vital role in manufacturing, and the role it plays in the economy, including job creation and innovation.
Like Amanda B, a Senior Advanced Quality Inspector and Lead of Operations out of the Bloomington, Minn. facility who has enjoyed her career in manufacturing for nearly nine years.
My mother initially referred me, and she has been here for 44 years, said Amanda the fried pickle loving Minnesotan. I saw her thrive here, so I thought I would check it out.
General Dynamics Mission Systems wants to help attract and inspire the next generation of workers by featuring diverse career opportunities within the manufacturing sector. Recognizing them and celebrating Manufacturing Day also emphasizes the importance of technological advancements and encourages continued investment in research and development.
I love that I am continually faced with challenges and learning working in the Service Center Final Inspection area, said Amanda who commutes nearly an hour to work. I really enjoy my team and the people I work with.
Manufacturing Day also acknowledges how manufacturing supports local communities through economic development and community engagement.
Since my mother has worked at General Dynamics Mission Systems for such a long time, a lot of my coworkers feel like a second family, said Amanda, a proud mom of two. Coming to visit as a child and attending bring your child to work day and seeing what my mom was doing firsthand was incredible. I am proud to now be a part of that and now can’t wait to bring my own son.
